With This Program You Will:

1) Learn the essentials of watercolour painting, techniques, and how to compose your painting.

2) Learn the essentials of landscape and portraiture painting. Feel confident about tackling any subject by understanding and applying my process.

3) Learn the essentials of line and wash illustration. Drawing with a pen can be scary! Learn how to estimate proportions, perspective, and draw different scenes.

4) Dramatically increase your confidence when you draw and paint.

5) See astonishing progression in your paintings in only a few weeks.

Here's a sample of what's included:

"I want to paint, but I can't. It doesn't matter how often I practice."

Consistency is important when learning watercolours.

However, what no one mentions is that you need to follow a process to create a loose, yet representative landscape painting. It's almost like cooking!

I know the feeling of putting days and hours into your painting, only to end up being unsatisfied and confused with your result.

I use a simplified process in all of my paintings that anyone can learn to create beautiful landscapes. I paint the light, then the shadows.

Save yourself time and frustration, and start applying my process to your own paintings.

"You need to be BORN with talent to create beautiful art!"

...that's NOT true!

The painting on the left was me 8 years ago.

But you don't need to spend 8 years to create a beautiful landscape painting.

I'll show you my simplified process of painting layers of light and dark paint in order to create amazing paintings that you'll be proud to show your friends and family.

Learn The Essentials Of Portrait Painting

Did you know that Watercolour Essentials includes five portraiture sub-courses?

By enrolling, you will learn how to easily turn any photograph into a realistic portrait.

can use the gridding technique to create accurate portrait drawings that will form a strong foundation for your painting.

How to use essential watercolor techniques in the context of painting portraits, such as wet-in-wet and wet-on-dry.

My two-step process in painting a watercolor portrait - keeping colors fresh and vibrant.

Let's make watercolour painting fun AND relaxing. Enjoy the process. Get the results you want.

Watercolours are magical. It's amazing to see the paint mix on paper to

create beautiful textures and details. But what happens when things

don't go as planned?

I run regular workshops and speak with and have helped many beginner

watercolour painters over the years. All of them struggle with the

same roadblocks when learning how to paint.

You don't need any special talent or prior experience to create beautiful

paintings. Painting is a process, just like any other. You can learn this

process and apply it to any situation. By learning principles of colour,

tone, and form, as well as some watercolour techniques, you will feel

confident to tackle any subject and create paintings you'd be proud to

hang on your wall.

Taj Mahal - from Live Recorded Workshop

Have You Ever Felt This Way About Your Painting?

  • Frustrated because you can picture the type of beautiful painting you want to create in your mind, but you are just unsure how to get to the end result.

  • Difficulty understanding the process of painting. How to plan and start a painting, how many layers of paint to apply, how much detail to add, how to know when you've 'finished' your painting.

  • Unsure about how to mix watercolour paints. How much water to mix with your paints, how to match the exact colour you need.

  • Tired of seeing the same results each time with your paintings, when those around you seem to be improving each week.

  • Struggling with your painting materials. You're not sure which ones you need, and how to get the best results out of your brushes, paper, and paints.

  • You question if painting is for you, or whether you have any artistic talent at all. Although, deep down you dream of producing beautiful paintings you can be proud of and show to your loved ones.

Now Imagine If You Could Create Beautiful Paintings Any Time And With The Confidence And Understanding Of The Entire Painting Process

  • You were able to paint any subject that you wanted with confidence and knowing you had the skills to carry you through the process.

  • You understood the fundamentals of good painting including colour, tone, composition, and more.

  • Your paintings were admired, appreciated, and celebrated by strangers, friends, family, and even collectors.

  • You were able to paint any subject that you wanted with confidence and knowing you had the skills to carry you through the process.

  • You had the passion, creative skills, and motivation to put your artwork into the world. To inspire and gain admiration and respect by sharing your knowledge with others along the way.

Student Testimonials

Don't just take my word. Hear from happy students who attended my recent workshops and purchased individual Watercolour Mentor courses.

"If you want to learn watercolor, this is the guy to teach it"

Phillip (YouTube Viewer) - commenting on Watercolour Mentor Course "Easy Watercolour Landscape Sketching"

If you want to learn watercolor, this is the guy to teach it. I watch his lives which are always insightful and in-depth. I could only imagine just how amazingly jam-packed full of wisdom and knowledge his classes are.

This is the first YouTuber I've found who isn't trying to sell you materials or make infomercials so his pockets get fat while you're left with questions and no advancement in your skills. I don't know this guy but I wish I did. I'd shake his hand.

Parents, if your children are wanting to learn the craft; this is the class worth your money and their time.

"Very much the course I was looking for."

Steven S - Reviewing Watercolour Mentor Course "Watercolour Sketching Essentials: Fun & Easy Landscapes"

Very much the course I was looking for. I have only limited, beginners experience. Easy to understand and follow. Really enjoying the cityscapes. Addendum to above: I just finished and got my first Udemy certificate. This course was so much fun and a great learning experience. Thanks so much!

"This class exceeded my expectations!"

Lisa D - Student - commenting on Watercolor Painting - Venice Pen and Ink Travel Sketching (Part 1)

I have been working on line and wash techniques and this is a perfect class for that. It has the great bonus to work on very interesting travel subjects.

Watercolor Mentor gives you background and history of the subjects for the projects. Great diversion for the long winter/pandemic ahead.

"It was a great class"

Jeannie E - reviewing Watercolour Mentor Course "Watercolor Painting - Venice Pen and Ink Travel Sketching (Part 1)"

I found it very helpful to watch the Watercolor Mentor sketch and paint the subject and then to practice the techniques on my own painting. It was a great class. As an added bonus, I got to pretend I was in Venice for a little while!

"Exceeded my expectations"

Grant M - commenting on Pen, Ink and Watercolor Sketching Essentials - Beach Landscapes

Good ideas for beach watercolor work in this class: simple steps to learn techniques for getting sky, water, and sand presented in your work. This class has multiple projects (19!) which I really appreciated as it allows lots of practice following the instructor's directions.

"Exceeded my expectations"

Rebecca T - commenting on Watercolour Mentor course Pen, Ink and Watercolor Sketching Essentials - Beach Landscapes

If you like loose landscapes with ink and watercolour this is a great class to take. There are a lot of different demonstrations to see how you can treat different elements in the scene like figures, water, shoreline etc.

"Exceeded my expectations"

Lisa D - commenting on Watercolour Mentor course Pen, Ink and Watercolor Sketching Essentials - Beach Landscapes

I really like multi-project classes like this that build on each other. I especially like this was a line and wash class-there are not very many of these focusing on outdoor/scenery sketching. I recommend it to anyone wanting to work on their watercolor techniques.

"This class exceeded my expectations!"

Bianca S - reviewing Watercolour Mentor Course "Watercolor Portrait Painting: Faces and Portraits"

The teacher is excellent and has different examples that can be worked on like where the person is facing. Also, he added some tips and helpful apps mentioned to use for better drawing. I learned a lot in this class. Thank you!

My Students' Work. You can paint like this too!

  • Can I access the program anywhere and at any time?

Yes. If you have internet access, you can access the entire program anywhere, anytime.

  • Why are there drawing lessons in this program?

Drawing is very important. It forms the basis of your painting. It is just as important as the painting. That's why I teach you how to draw as part of the entire painting process too.

By drawing, you can plan out your entire painting before you even put the brush to paper.

  • Will this program be updated, and new material added?

Yes. I will continually add more courses and workshops to this program, which adds even more value over time. Currently, there are 70 full-length sub-courses included, and over 90 live workshop replays.

  • What if I change my mind?

These payment gateways are safe and secure for using all types of credit cards and debit cards in different countries and your details are not stored during this process.

Since your purchase is a digital product, it is deemed “used” after download or opening. Since the products made available here are intangible, all purchases made on www.watercolourmentor.thinkific.com and www.watercolourmentor.com are final.
